Rome is a fascinating city in the heart of Italy. Italy is a land of culture art and history with famous Italian names such as the Vatican, Coliseum and of course Constantine’s Arch.

A typical tour from a cruise ship of Rome will include all of the above sites and .will typically start with a description such as:
“ We will meet you right down the ship and on the way to Rome there will be time to get to know your driving guide and let him understand your needs and interests. The first stop of the day will be the Colosseum, where you will have time to explore after being explained about this world-known archaeological site.” This is the way that the Easy Italy tour page describes the scene but could easily be for any tour of the area.

Often the tours (and description) will proceed with Constantine's Arch, with the knowledge that Emperor Constantine changed for ever, the effect and spread of Christianity across the globe.

However, there are also a number of other, smaller, sites of interest, with even the Roman aqueducts, which were once used to lead water to the Palatine hill from other areas of this wonderful city.
